Malacca Strait PSC, operated by PT Imbang Tata Alam under a
Production Sharing Contract (PSC), is fully owned (100%) by PT Energi
Mega Persada Tbk (“EMP”). The PSC covers an area of 7031.30 km²,
consists of 58% offshore area with water depth of approximately 30
meters and 42% onshore area in Riau Province, Indonesia. The working
area includes Siak, Kepulauan Meranti and Bengkalis regency. The
contract follows a Gross Split scheme and is valid from 2020 until
2040. The production from Malacca Strait PSC is supplied to Kilang
Pertamina International, PLN, and TIS Petroleum, supporting both
domestic and international energy needs.
To sustain production and maximize reserve potential, the Malacca
Strait PSC has outlined a series of exploration and development
activities over the coming years. In 2025, the focus will be on
exploration through wildcat drilling and delineation drilling in several
key areas, including MSAC N, MSTB NW, MSCN, and MSH, alongside the
development of the Ringgit Field. Additional projects in subsequent
years include exploration in MSP, West Kurau, and futher development
in TB & Melibur field. These initiatives aim to expand the field’s
reserves and enhance production efficiency, ensuring a stable supply
to buyers.
By 2028, the Malacca Strait PSC development & facilities project from
exploration success are expected to come onstream, further
supporting the region’s production capabilities. Continuous
exploration efforts will also be carried out in various fields to identify
new hydrocarbon potential and sustain long-term operations.
Through this strategy, the Malacca Strait PSC is committed to
maintaining and enhancing production while optimizing the
remaining reserves throughout the contract period.
