Human Rights

We conducted our first Human Rights due diligence from August to September 2023 across our three main business units: Malacca Strait, Bentu, and Kangean. This process was led by the EMP Human Rights Team, with guidance from independent external experts in human rights, in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Objectives

To establish a corporate human rights framework and supporting business units in its implementation.

To identify health, safety, community, and environmental impacts through human rights due diligence procedures.

Coordinating divisions to integrate human rights into the company’s system.

Monitoring and evaluating corrective actions for continuous human rights respect.

Following up on human rights violation allegations and identifying the best resolution.

Ensuring proper management and accountability of the human rights complaints mechanism through coordination with relevant divisions.
7
Advising the Board of Directors on human rights respect matters.
