The Kampar PSC, covering an area of 421.91 km², is 90% owned by PT
EMP Energi Riau and 10% by PT Riau Petroleum Kampar (Local
Government Owned Company), is currently operated by PT EMP
Energi Riau and operates under a Cost Recovery scheme. The contract
period runs from 2016 to 2035, ensuring a long-term development for
the block. The block’s production operations are centered around
Merbau, Sei Karas, and Kayu Ara fields, with crude oil transported
primarily by truck to PEP Lirik Terminal Buatan as the lifting point.
To sustain and increase production, several initiatives have been
planned for the coming years. In 2025, the operator will undertake
development wells drilling, workover activities, and well service
operations. Additional exploration and seismic reprocessing studies
are also being conducted to support future drilling programs. These
efforts aim to optimize recovery and extend the block’s production
life.
Furthermore, to improve operational efficiency, the operation of Kampar
PSC is implementing cost optimization measures, including the conversion
of diesel power plants (PLTD) to gas-fired power plants (PLTG) and the
purchase of electricity from PLN to reduce energy costs and CO2 emission.
These efforts ensure sustainable operations while maintaining profitability.
Through continuous investment in exploration, drilling, and infrastructure
improvements, PT EMP Energi Riau aims to enhance the block’s productivity.
